The Finance team needed to bring automation to manual processes, improve outdated reporting, and develop integrations to counteract siloed systems.

“We’d been running on a system that was struggling to keep up with the volume and pace that Motorpoint operates at,” says Jerry Warren, Head of Finance. “To thrive, we need scalable, real-time visibility which will aid the business in its drive for growth.”

That’s when Motorpoint partnered with Rsult to implement Oracle NetSuite; a modern, cloud-based ERP built to support finance operations and business growth.

From legacy limitations to modern finance

Motorpoint’s legacy environment included Sage 200 for finance, a separate OCR solution for invoice processing, and bespoke in-house platforms for vehicle inventory and refurbishment.

While functional, these systems were disconnected, time-consuming to maintain, and ill-equipped to manage Motorpoint’s ambitious roadmap.

The Motorpoint–Rsult team adopted the SuiteSuccess methodology to guide the rollout. Scope management was crucial, and both sides worked closely to avoid overreach in phase one, opting instead for a solid, minimum viable product to deliver immediate impact.
“One of the early wins was integrating NetSuite with our internal vehicle pricing and inventory system,” Jerry shares. “Previously, our platforms didn’t talk to each other. Now, we get real-time inventory data, and our reporting has become more forward-looking.”

Throughout the project, open communication proved key. Weekly catchups, honest feedback, and fast decision-making helped the team overcome the inevitable ERP hurdles. A critical shift came mid-project when the team identified a need for more enhanced set of inventory management capabilities, a pivot that was embraced and implemented swiftly.

“We now have visibility throughout the month, rather than cramming everything into month-end. This changes the dynamic of finance. It becomes a driver of insight, not just a back-office function.”

What’s changed: real-time finance, real business value

Already, the benefits are tangible. Manual tasks are being automated. Invoice entry and reconciliation processes are faster. The finance team has transitioned from data input to data analysis, freeing up time to focus on value-added activities.

“NetSuite allows us to operate in real-time,” Jerry says. “We now have visibility throughout the month, rather than back loaded work across month-end. This changes the dynamic of finance. It becomes a driver of insight, not just a back-office function.”

The ripple effect has the potential to extend far beyond finance. Faster, richer data is available to guide business decision making, allowing for more agility across the business.

The impact goes beyond operations, as Jerry explains:

Looking ahead: phases of growth

Go-live is just the beginning. With NetSuite in place, Motorpoint is already planning future phases, expanding automation and exploring advanced features across the suite.

“This is a platform we can grow with,” Jerry confirms. “We’ve only just scratched the surface of what NetSuite can do. With Rsult as our partner, we would like to maximise on that opportunity.”

His advice for others? “Get your scope right. Start with the core. And surround yourself with the right people from day one, internally and in your partner team.”
